Amicus Botanicus

Amicus Botanicus is delighted to announce that it has now become an alumni society for the graduates of The Chelsea School of Botanical Art.

In 2006 eleven enthusiastic graduates of the Botanical Painting Diploma Course at the English Gardening School at the Chelsea Physic Garden created Amicus Botanicus in order to mount an exhibition following their course. This internationally renowned course was founded by Anne Marie Evans and run by Helen Allen, distinguished botanical painter. The core members of this group (from Singapore, USA, UK and Japan) with a few more recent graduates, have continued to exhibit together and individually to great acclaim.

The course, under the development of Helen Allen is now The Botanical Painting and Illustration Diploma Course run by The Chelsea School of Botanical Art and now based in Helen’s lovely Garden Studio in Ham near Kew.

In 2018 the artists of Amicus Botanicus were delighted to be invited to join forces with The Chelsea School of Botanical Art and form an alumni society. The aim of the society will be to act as a supportive, creative and interactive platform for graduates of the CSBA, as well as continuing to be an exhibiting group.

News of the society’s activities will be posted on both the CSBA and Amicus Botanicus websites.
