Amicus Botanicus

Amicus Botanicus was created by 11 enthusiastic graduates of the 2004 Botanical Painting Diploma Course at The English Gardening School, at the Chelsea Physic Garden, London. This international group (Singapore, USA, UK and Japan) developed their botanical and technical skills under the excellent tuition of Course Director Helen Allen and the founder of the programme, Anne-Marie Evans. The artists were inspired to mount a showcase exhibition following their course and have continued to exhibit together and individually to great acclaim.

In 2012 a handful of exceptional new graduates of the School were invited onboard and several exhibited with with the group in last year’s successful “A New Leaf” in Mayfair. The next exhibition as a group will be held in 2014 but many of the members will be involved in other exhibitions during the coming year, and details of these can be found on our “News” page. Information about teaching, and purchasing prints and paintings, can be found on the individual members pages.
